Dr. Aravind Krishnamoorthy is an Assistant Professor at the J. Mike Walker '66 Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University with a courtesy appointment at the Department of Materials Science. He completed his Bachelors degree in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science  at the Indian Institute of  Technology, Madras, and  joined the Materials Science Ph.D. program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His doctoral work developed the first bottom-up multiscale model of corrosion processes, incorporating insights from electrnonic structure theory, quantum chemistry, atomistic simulations and mesoscale models. His postdoctoral research at the University of Southern California integrated reactive, non-adiabatic, and neural-network molecular dynamics simulations with ultrafast experiments and state-of-the-art synthesis to understand material design, optimization, and manufacturing.
